Our work is a study for the left figure in the painting “Die enttäuschten Seelen” (1892), Kunstmuseum Bern (cat. rais. 1204). It is also related to the painting of the same single figure in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1891-92 (cat. rais. 1207).
